There are times in life when you feel strongly about an idea that you may have been putting away for a long time. Over the years you tend to forget it, it gets buried and forgotten deep in the memory sand, only till the time when a strong gust of wind makes it resurface. At that moment you may allow yourself to take a fleeting glance at it or take a moment to admire the beautiful idea that you had once upon a time and marvel at the possible outcomes and allow it to pass away and withhold the sweet high you derived from the mini day dreaming escapade, unaware that idea was begging you to save it, take action on it before it breathes it last and vanishes. And there will be a few who will overcome their fear, fear of being ridiculed, fear of uncertainty, and just be all giving to the entire experience of bringing their idea to life.
Taking that first step towards your idea is the most difficult one, probably even more difficult than the moment when you tried to take that first step while trying to learn to walk as a baby. Today is one such day where my long cherished desire to write knocked on my door, extending its hand again towards me, and finally, after a decade, I decided to take the hand!
Writing my first-ever blog today was not really easy. Contrary to my typical daydreaming sequence, where words came rushing and I kept filling pages after pages, I made use of the delete button far more times than the number of words in my first sentence itself! I am glad and a little proud of myself for completing what I started today. Today I did realize that you need to find the courage in yourself, it’s there right within you to discover. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you have any long-forgotten cherished desire, could be traveling to a place, starting your own business, building your garden, pitching an idea to your boss, or even as simple as reading a book, go ahead set it in motion, take an action. If the thought has been nudging you for a long time, maybe it is begging you to give it a chance to breathe. What could be the worst outcome? It might not work, you fail. Still, you will have the satisfaction that you tried at least. You may learn a thing or two which might lead to something extraordinary. So take that chance!
Time to sign off now. Am glad I started my journey. I look forward to writing my next blog soon, till then don’t let the glimmering light of your thoughts fade away! Adios!
